Give me a break !
So we move on from "one of those days" to one of those weeks, when yet again the "she shall have NO social life this year" fairy waved her wand. I had managed to have a good pre-christmas-party exfoliation in the shower after the vomiting incident, aware that Friday night was coming and I would need to be tanning on Thursday having moisturised on Wednesday.....fat chance !On Tuesday night we went to bed when I started shivering, chattering and goosebumping, to the extent that I put my dressing gown on, over a top and tracksuit bottoms and was still cold ! Not a good feeling and not a good look. I was about to compare myself to Bernard Dunne going into the ring but I am more of a Mike Tyson really. Wednesday was was feeling lousy and poor baby was still off his food but we survived and were well and truly sick of looking out at snow by now. Wednesday night same shivers followed by some very attractive sweating led me to head to the docs on Thursday, my saviour coming down for an hour to mind the kids. The Doc charged me 50 euro to tell me it was viral and I had to "ride it out". Thursday evening, same again and now poor baby awake, hot and very upset, so on Friday, back to doc, 50 euro more for him to tell me that baby now had tonsillitis and eldest son a chest infection. Off to chemist where BMM met us so I could leave the kids in the car with her. In I went and got the prescriptions along with a new pair of slippers for poor old Cinderella me, as the last pair went in the bin on Tuesday night due to the fact that they contained the contents of the babies stomach ! Luckily these came with a foot scrub, foot "implement" and foot cream so I smiled as I thought of how nice my feet would be that evening......when they should have been peeping out of a pair of silly shoes at my Christmas party ! Aaaarg ! Ok so now I have missed a wedding, a shopping trip and lunch out with GASP, TKMaxx night with the Mad One, my Christmas party, Jedward in Navan this morning ( eldest son a major fan) the Slane Village Christmas Market. A December to remember hey !The posh frock has cobwebs on it, my shrunken waist is expanding, my patience is wearing and GASP's theory that leaving food out for the birds would attract rodents appears to be true ( again) as bird pooh does not look like that ! Now I would just like to point out that the boys have had a very healthy year, but any illness has exactly corresponded to my few social events for this season. The good news is that the snow is gone, tonight Chinese Take Away and X Factor Final night, when I do get out, Shaws has a sale on, I have beautifully smooth feet and GASP is looking at me in tracksuit bottoms as if I am Beyonce Knowles, due to a distinct lack of action in "that" department .....there's always an up side ! ( no pun intended)
