2016 Part One
So Facebook have compiled a video for me to share, apparently capturing the highlights of my year, but of course, Facebook only gets highlights, photo shopped smiley moments, so I thought I should take a look at 2016 as it actually happened. Like Christmas now starting at Halloween, I am bringing NYE forward to December 10th , as I will be far to knackered at New Year to write a blog !
2016 - a short history
January - Jaysus !
Engine of the much loved Peugeot 3008 died......€6,000 down in value overnight.....bought a Mazda....my old back hated it...had to change it for now much loved Hyundai ix35....car loan of €17,500 instead of my plan to own the Peugeot in 2016 with no car loan for the first time ever....happy f*****g days !!!***@@@
February - Feeling Fabulous
Off to Dublin with the KOK's to do the Operation Transformation 5k run in the Phoenix Park in the cold and rain....was just wonderful. Met all the OT team and leaders but RTE decided that we were not fit for television in light of the fact that Fluffy Duffy chose to put the abbreviated version of Krill Oil Krazies on the front of out shirts in large black letters.....I was the only KOK who noticed the issue :)
March - Mothers Day
Trip to Chitty Chitty Bang Bang with my boys and BMM. The Bord Gais theatre is a national treasure and the looks on the boys faces when the car actually flew on stage cannot be valued.
April - Appreciation
Afternoon Tea in Tankardstown House provided the KOK's with an opportunity to show their love for the adorable MILF who thought we had forgotten her birthday until we shouted " surprise". Our best moments revolve around food and being surrounded by those we love. This followed through as we celebrated Fat Freddie's 75th in Chapter One...magical...more by the fact that he is still alive, as we nearly lost him every year since he was 50, so anything with a 5 or 0 at the end is celebrated like it will be the last....25 years later...he is costing us a fortune !
May - My Month
Wow- bucket list or what ! On May 1st I RAN THE BOYNE 10 K .....YEEEEESSSS ! The elation was incredible and I was thrilled that my baby sis The Ambassadrice was there with me. I was presented by a medal....(we bought them ourselves) and it felt amazing. Celebratory dinner in NOSH that evening saw the KOK's make an early birthday fuss of me and I felt truly special. The month of my birthday was further crowned by going to see Bruce Springsteen with BMM and walking Darkness into Light in Drogheda....a very special event. I had to walk as the 10k finished me off with a butt and knee problem and now was the last run I would do in 2016. This month finally saw me diagnosed with an inflammatory arthritis, finally explaining the pain and stiffness I had experienced for 3 years and also explaining why the running made me feel so good. So, one year older, a 10 k under my saggy belt and now arthritic.....the second half of my life begins !
June - Jackeens
Our first family day out to a Dublin Meath game in Croke Park...the excitement !The eternal optimist in me thought we might have a chance of winning......yes I know ! The boys loved it and thanks to a special favour were wearing fully singed Meath jerseys which very quickly unveiled from under their jackets as soon as they arrived...great memories.
So the first half of 2016 had lots of fun, quite an influx of hormones, as peri menopause the musical began in my body. I knew that a healthy diet was important so supplemented my diet with Green veg, oils, grapes and dairy ......Spinach, Krill Oil, Merlot and Cheesecake ! GASP endured this period ( or lack thereof) with a fixed tight smile on his face and jut muttered " whatever you say dear" through gritted teeth, in the hope of seeing the second half of the year..........
