DEVASTATED !


Gino D'Acampo is devastated.Deep in his Italian loins he senses that I would attend the Taste of Dublin this afternoon. The fact that I had to miss the event due to two sick boys has ruined his trip to Ireland. Rumour has it Kevin Dundon and Nick Meunier are nearly as upset but the show went on. I had my route all planned, an early stop for bubbly at Jacobs Creek and a nibble from Jaipur to wake up the tastebuds before making my way over to see Gino at 1.30 knowing the hob wasn't the only thing that would be HOT in that kitchen !After exchanging glances with Gino I had intended to Diep Le Shaker and Pichet for two more main courses before the statuatory Roly's dessert.After that I planned a petit fours from Danucci, more drinks courtsy of my Irish Independent vouchers and then shop for the best food there is...sadly it was not mean to be. I was represented however by the Mad One, BMM, The Financial Advisor, Fabulous and The Butcher Girl, who at this stage are probably three sheets to the wind on thier way home. I hope they had a great day and that they remembered me while toasting, sampling, grabbing freebies and shopping. I will just have to read about it in Food and Wine. So it's off to Waterford tomorrow ( all going well with the boys) for sun, fun and food...can't wait !

    Ahhh I'm gutted for ya babe after all that planning and dreaming. I heard that 2010 was'nt a vintage year at all ya probably did'nt miss too much except some food poisioning???. As long as the wee monsters r ok thats the main thing they need their Foodie Mama when they r sick! Take care Siobhan xxx

Yesterday I announced the the KOK's that I would be running the Judge 6K naked. By naked I meant I was going to leave my smartphone with it's running app in my car, not have it strapped to my arm advising me of every kilometer done, telling me my average speed and generally annoying me. Hunky Dory.....NOT !

It was definitely the crisps ! This is the story of a girl who will NEVER eat the green Hunky Dorys EVER AGAIN ! The poor girl ( poetic license) thought last Friday night would be a straightforward evening of chat, dancing, fun at the evening of her first cousins wedding, but it didn't exactly turn out, as she thought it would. Of course The Mad One and the FIS ( fluent Irish speaker) set the wheels in motion, when they met in Lidl and decided that the men were to be left at home, and it would be a girls night out. Again The Mad One compounded matters when she offered to drive and collect the poor girl from her home on Friday evening to make the 90 minute trip to the hotel. On the way, the crack was mighty, but being three women in a car, there had to be a loo and coffee stop, at which point FIS showed her true Irish roots, bu arriving back into the car with a selection of snacks "for the journey home". Fat Friends

The key to looking slim is hanging around with people who are fatter than you are.I kinda forget this and have failed to make myself look any better due to the fact that those I am most often seen with are all smaller than I. I am not suggesting that I hang around with a bunch of supermodels ( they will not be offended by this). I try to hang with the "built for comfort not for speed" type but the FA has let me down badly a) by turning into a slim person and b) by introducing an even slimmer Sparkle to the group ! And she's meant to be a friend!The Baking Queen is pregnant...thank you, the blonde declares she has put on a stone ( I am not sure but it's good of her to say) and Newly Single has a Thyroid problem...happy days !True friends !
