This morning, 7 of the KOK's took to the streets of Carrickmacross for the 5k in aid of SOSAD. We arrived an hour early to register, took our selfies with our Paddies day hats on and then warmed up around the park. Following our stretches, toilet visits and chatting we lined up and took off to the tunes of Rocky "Eye of the Tiger". The girls shot off at a great pace, but my poor asthmatic lungs did not like the cool morning air, so it took quite a while before I got into it and managed a sentence.Long hills were included in the run, but we loved the downhill which followed on both occasions and were actually well fit to sprint to the finish, having thought half way in I was actually going to collapse. The KOK's decided that this was in fact a great 5 k route, but it soon became a fantastic 5k route, when we saw the refreshments inside the local hall. What a feast !
