Reverse Psychology



It's a well known fact that if you want your husband to do something, under no circumstances do you let him know that it is what you actually want to do.This weekend is our 7th wedding anniversary and BMM has very kindly offered to have the boys overnight. Now I usually drop heavily weighted hints in GASP's ear some weeks in advance of this event....usually the name of the restaurant I am hoping (planning) he will book. This year I decided to go with what GASP would like so suggested last week that we go to see "The A Team" movie....yes I know ! You see GASP, is a major fan of the original series, so I decided to be magnanimous for a change and go with what he would like...it kinda felt good. I even looked up the times of the film in the local paper. Now before I go any further, GASP had failed to commit to any plan....he never does. Today I received a text advising me that Newly Single was holding a dinner party in hers Friday night, for Preggers and her husband Photoshop,the blonde and her husband Victor Meldrew and the Financial Advisor....my favourite dinner party selection. I immediately texted back that it was entirely up to GASP, what we did Friday night and would let her know....a message I would suggest amazed her in light of the mildly ( very) dominant position I normally adopt. True to my word I waited until GASP got home, handed him a dinner of Roast Rib of Beef and said "Darling, I have no preference whatsoever, but we have been invited for dinner on Friday night..... You decide what you would like us to do" . With a grin on his face GASP said "stay in" but I immediately advised him that he could only decide between the two suggested options....on no account was he to be under the impression that he actually had completely free reign to decide !!!( I hadn't lost my mind !)GASP has not actually given me his decison as of yet but I will seal the deal later . I will also make sure that he gets to the movie and the game on Sunday.....the secrets of a happy marriage...( in bold)

Running Naked !

Yesterday I announced the the KOK's that I would be running the Judge 6K naked. By naked I meant I was going to leave my smartphone with it's running app in my car, not have it strapped to my arm advising me of every kilometer done, telling me my average speed and generally annoying me. Fat Friends

The key to looking slim is hanging around with people who are fatter than you are.I kinda forget this and have failed to make myself look any better due to the fact that those I am most often seen with are all smaller than I. I am not suggesting that I hang around with a bunch of supermodels ( they will not be offended by this). I try to hang with the "built for comfort not for speed" type but the FA has let me down badly a) by turning into a slim person and b) by introducing an even slimmer Sparkle to the group ! And she's meant to be a friend!The Baking Queen is pregnant...thank you, the blonde declares she has put on a stone ( I am not sure but it's good of her to say) and Newly Single has a Thyroid problem...happy days !True friends ! Hunky Dory.....NOT !

It was definitely the crisps ! This is the story of a girl who will NEVER eat the green Hunky Dorys EVER AGAIN ! The poor girl ( poetic license) thought last Friday night would be a straightforward evening of chat, dancing, fun at the evening of her first cousins wedding, but it didn't exactly turn out, as she thought it would. Of course The Mad One and the FIS ( fluent Irish speaker) set the wheels in motion, when they met in Lidl and decided that the men were to be left at home, and it would be a girls night out. Again The Mad One compounded matters when she offered to drive and collect the poor girl from her home on Friday evening to make the 90 minute trip to the hotel. On the way, the crack was mighty, but being three women in a car, there had to be a loo and coffee stop, at which point FIS showed her true Irish roots, bu arriving back into the car with a selection of snacks "for the journey home".
