I'm lovin it !
Ok,so foodiemama or not there are days when you just want a McDonalds...yes, I've said it !I have been a fan of the big yellow M ever since it opened it's first store in Dublin and BMM and Fat Freddie took us for a treat. The first thing I ever ordered was a Fillet'O'Fish but mine was actually raw in the middle so had to be sent back...the only time I have ever sent anything back in McD's. From then on I ate the Big Mac meal religiously until the Mc Chicken Sandwich arrived and I quickly converted. When pregnant with eldest son I craved the strawberyy milkshake...well I declared it a craving but truthfully I just loved them. On both occasions I was in hopsital after childbirth GASP brought me in Mc'D's and I loved him for it !Whereever we are in the world we always visit Mc Donalds once, Paris, Barcelona,New York ( where there was a guy playing a grand piano!)Eldest son is a huge fan of the chicken mc nugget Happy Meal and today was no exception. After some shopping in Drogheda I suggested the Happy Meal from the drive through but on this occasion decided to join him by buying the latest thing...the McWrap. I had seen and been listening to the mouthwatering ads on tv and radio and was dreaming of the crispy chiken wrap and today ( in the spirit of research for you my loyal fans) ordered the crispy chicken and bacon wrap, shunning the healthy grilled chicken and mango salsa one. The first remarkable thing was the packaging. The wrap was beautifully encased in a cardboard tube thing, which had a tear off strip half way down it. I duly tore off the strip to reveal a large wrap filled with fresh salad, mayo , crispy chicken strips and mayo....superb...no really...superb ! I loved it. No chips required as it was a considerable size....and we all know how important size is!There was no mess due to the ingenius packaging so I was clean and satisfied....lovely. GASP was somewhat put out that we failed to bring him home a Quarter Pounder Meal but I made it up to him by cooking a quarter pounder with smoked bacon, mayo and tomato. That was 5 hours ago and he is still full. We are about to watch American Pie the wedding...just for the ice cream scene so that we can laugh and laugh again and again.
